Xcaret opened in 1990, and since then, it has become a landmark in Cancun and Riviera Maya, even considered by many as a must-visit destination in the Mexican Carribean.
In the native language, “Xcaret” means “small inlet”. Due to its location, it was an attractive point for the pre-Hispanic culture that inhabited the area, who used this port as a commercial center.
